Repo! The Genetic Opera

Going to see Repo! The Genetic Opera tonight! I am so excited to see this movie. I read a review of it saying that if you like Rocky Horror, Phantom of the Opera or the Saw movies, then you will like this!Above - Paris Hilton as Amber Sweet

In Toronto it's playing at the Bloor Cinema, for one week only, Nov 21-27. Unfortunately the Bloor Cinema site hasn't been fully operational, you can't even check out the schedule and the last time I called them their mailbox was full. SO if you wanna check out this movie, here is the schedule:
Sat:9:30
Sun:9:00
Mon:4:30 9:00
Tue:7:00
Wed:9:00
Thu:3:30

Below - Sarah Brightman as Blind Mag:
A lot of film critics are whining about the fact that Paris Hilton is in this movie. I don't get what their problem is. Apparently director Darren Lynn Bousman refused to audition Paris at first and she had a copy of the script smuggled to her while she was in jail so she could rehearse the role.

Holy Crap Podcasts!

Has anyone else been listening to any animation podcasts? A couple days ago I didn't really know what a podcast was but now I am HOOKED! They are so cool. I've found The Animation Podcast and in one I was (re) listening yesterday, Clay mentions a few other animation podcast creators, (Spline Doctors, Animation Conversation, Toon In, Conversation on Animation) and now that I do a quick online search I see that there are many more! So far I've just headed over to The Spline Doctors for a start and their webpage is amazing too! I wanna check them all out. The Animation Podcast often feels a lot like a very enjoyable history class, but the interviews are peppered full of great animation info and ideas... Very cool. Thank you Clay!

Yesterday morning on TV I saw a pretty cool advert for M n M's candies, It's an ad with Red and Yellow in a montage of clips through the years and their design and animation styles match the times they are placed in along with the setting and all the people in those clips.

Happy Day after Halloween!

I brought my camera along with me all yesterday but apparently Steve took the memory card out of it and forgot to put it back in so I was unable to take photos of wicked costumes and party fun at KT and Gerry's! Hopefully I can grab some photos of such good time from them soon. I dressed up as a 20's flapper and Steve went 80's glam rock complete with way too tight print pants and tight sparkly top full of holes and 4 inch chunky heeled boots.

Stumbled across this pile of thoughts on an early screening of UP in progress. I love seeing animated films that way, unfinished, chock full of scribbly boards and rough animation next to completed scenes. It sounds like UP is going to be quite mature thematically but still fun, and pretty different from other feature animations. Just noticed that cartoonbrew posts a link to this pile of thoughts by Larry at The Fire Wire as well. Oh well.

Happy Animation Day!

It's Animation Day today! The NFB is offering up two streaming shorts online for free as well as events through cities across Canada. Toronto's events can be seen here.In other news, I love pop stars/pop music. When I'm 50 I'll still be listening to it. I just watched Katy Perry's Hot n' Cold video and Lady Gaga's Poker Face. I love them!

It's been awhile...

Dear blog:
I miss you too. I've been fierce updating my fashion blog for the past couple months but ignoring you. I will try to post again soon. Inspired to paint and draw. A week ago or so Stephen brought home a copy of a survey done by Animation Mentor that says the employees of the animation industry are the second happiest at their job of the industries surveyed in America falling between clergy and firefighters. Cool thought...
Love, Andrea

Missing my Blog

Oh I miss blogging... I've been far too busy and now my computer is giving up... I'm sure being sans A/C in my humid apt doesn't help... I'm 3 weeks into my new job at Elliott Studio's which is going very nicely. I miss everyone at Pipeline! Well, I must get going. Hopefully less busy in the near future.

Rainy Saturday

Just got home from a quick visit to Queen St. West area and I'm just settling in with a cup of tea to do some freelance work. With a commute and a full time job, taking on extra work was a retarded mistake. Not going to do that again. At least the work is pretty fun, I'm doing 10 little animations of 6 characters in Flash that Elaine Bogan designed for this company in New York. The project will end up being an educational interactive website and later video on saving energy. So, pretty cool. Unfortunately none of the characters were built when I received the designs so I had to build them all... Been doing that on the GO train on the way to work...

I recently finished reading Watchmen, I really liked it. Picked it up at Silver Snail. When I got it it was the only copy in the store, the salesperson I asked about it had just finished reading it himself the night before and then returned the copy to the storeroom. Now there a whole pile of copies available and I've seen it promoted online like at amazon.com. Watching the trailor after reading the book is such a greater thrill, the way you can see all the characters brought to life on the big screen, the effects and the costumes... Andrew (intern at work) was the one who told me about Watchmen and that the trailer would be played before Batman. He was saying there were a lot of trailers and Watchmen was the last one, that just before it came on he was wondering if it would even get played. When I saw Batman with Steve in Imax, it was the only trailer! Just as it was ending some guy came into the packed theater, arms full of pop and popcorn and he cried out 'FUCK! I missed it!'

Also got a copy of Character Animation Crash Course by Eric Goldberg last weekend at The Labyrinth. Although I preordered it June 20 at amazon.com, there weren't going to ship it until August 28t! So... I cancelled my online order and picked it up despite the $10 or so price difference. I still have to get really into it, been busy, but it looks pretty hot.

Concept Painting

I'm very busy, as always. This time I've got a freelance gig on top of my regular job and I spent half the weekend visiting family and the other half finishing up my Hothouse 5 proposal. Here's a concept piece I did for that:

Wall-E!

Saw Wall-E for the second time this past Sunday! I want to see it again. What a beautiful movie. Wall-E and Mo, the little cleaner robot.

NY Times political commentator Frank Rich wrote the article: Wall-E for President. Wall-E director Andrew Stanton talks with Christianity Today. The New York Times review. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a %97. Incidentally, The Princess Bride stands at %95.

Profiles

I am very sick of my old profile picture... I'm very interested right now in those bright garish colours reminiscent of a late 80's early 90's style. I remember when everyone thought neon colours were cool and they were on a lot of kids toys.

I love Kung Fu!!!!!!

There is no charge for awesomeness. Or attractiveness.

A sketch by character designer Nicolas Marlet:
Variety.com has an interview here with Kung Fu Panda Character Designer Nicolas Marlet.

Kung Fu Panda is a fantastic movie! Just saw it last night and I left the theater very inspired. The whole movie is beautiful but a lot of people are talking about the end and beginning credit sequences... You can watch the end credits, (animated classically!) here, animated by Shine Studios. James Baxter Animation did the opening credits which I really liked as well, unfortunately I couldn't find it posted online anywhere. You can check out the Enchanted Demo that James Baxter Animation put together however on the studio's site, among other tidbits.

Lovely days

The weather outside is gorgeous... too muggy and hot for most people but I am just so happy for some sun and warmth!! Now our apartment isn't freezing cold, a.k.a. I actually want to do things instead of huddle for warmth under every blanket I can find. Too bad I have to go to work today... I need to catch up for the day I missed visiting Waterloo for Dan's graduation ceremony. We had a lovely day, my family and I. Got all dressed up, saw the ceremony and went to a reception, took pictures, ate a nice dinner together at home and chatted until we were all sleepy.

Sex and the City: the Movie

Saw SATC: the Movie last night and LOVED it!!! It was very satisfying, and the best conclusion to the show. It was about love, the pursuit of love, trust, forgiveness and imperfection. Samantha is my favourite.
If you want to see this movie, put on your favorite pair of shoes and see it soon, while the theaters a packed full of excited women, buy your ticket in advance and get there EARLY to get a great seat!! (Leave your manfriends at home too! Unless they want to come along.) I promise it will be better than renting it later and watching it on your crummy TV in your living room at home.

Sick Day

This morning at 5am I woke up feeling nauseous and ended up being really sick... I feel nauseous when I walk and I can't eat much.... My plans for the day were scrapped, working and I had some errands to run downtown as well.... Opting to take it easy in bed all day, Stephen offered to go out and rent me a movie.... He got me some Sex and the City episodes I haven't seen... Isn't he a sweetie?

My last post seemed a little bitchy in retrospect, sorry about that... So I cleaned that up and found some more pretty things to post. I miss drawing though, I would like to post some scribbles instead of photos of things sometime soon... I need a time machine.

If you're looking to go out and see a movie, check out Iron Man, it's really good.

Another lovely shoe, kinda like the ones I already got... Keep seeing the roses everywhere...Bride and Maids of SATC Black dresses

Nice day for a ...Black and White wedding

Wedding planning is on my mind all day these days... I'm getting underway with the bridesmaid stuff now, finally asked all my girls to be my bridesmaids! Karen is the maid of honor, and Lucia, KT and Elaine are my bridesmaids. I'm so happy that they're all excited about it...

A look by Chanel:Here is a pair of shoes I really like for bridesmaids. My mom likes this pair:Here are some black (or maybe very dark burgendy) calla lillies I love: And here is the Humber Room at The Old Mill, where the reception will be held.

Post-Stephen's B-day - Wedding Plans Snowballing

The Biggest reason I haven't been blogging much recently is this:
A shirt and tie I made for Stephen for his birthday took me all the spare time I had for a month to finish. All while keeping it secret! I also put together a surprise b-day party for him at Alice Fazooli's and made him a lemon merange pie at home in place of a birthday cake. He likes his new shirt. I've been too busy to clean too as you can see from the photo. I was going to make a vest as well but just did not have the time. I even have the pattern and the fabric! I still have a summer dress in pieces that I want to put together for myself as well...

I picked up my dreamy wedding shoes on the weekend... They're black! And gorgeous! My dress is a creamy off white but nearly all my accesories will be black. I think they scare my mom.
I didn't get to come home for mother's day, but I will be trekking back to the loo for Dan's graduation ceremony mid June and I'll be doing the belated mother's day thing then.

Well, I think my life is just going to get busier and busier. Wedding planning is snowballing now, I want to join a gym and I may be doing some freelance work soon. (All on top of the 3 hours of commuting I do each day.) I have no idea when I'll see my apartment floor again...

The Story of Stuff

Today it felt like the seasons were reversing and we're moving back into winter... Very cold in Toronto today.
Here is a picture of the lovely flowers Steve picked up for me the other day:

I found a video about stuff, and anti-consumerism... You need to watch it!!!! It's called The Story of Stuff and you can watch it HERE. This little film is sums up very nicely pretty much how I feel about our world and our daily lives.

I found a great way to jazz up the daily peanut butter sandwich.... Mix a couple big spoons of peanut butter with a smaller spoon of cocao powder and put it on your bread. Squirt on some honey if you wanna sweeten it. YUM!

I'm pretty busy at work still, but my big deadline right now is this Friday. I even went in on Sunday for a couple of hours to get some work out of the way. I did have enough time to start adding links to my blog however!! I used to have a long list of links but somewhere along the way they got erased... I think I changed my template or something... I'll keep adding links, when I get some more time :)

Still Busy

Still busy as bloody hell, but I'm scoping out some freelance animation work and so I've put a recent demo reel up on my professional art blog; http://sugar-bean.blogspot.com/.

Congrats Dan on getting that bursary to study French in Quebec and on graduating!!! Hopefully I can make a trip to catch up with you sometime soon.

Happy Birthday Wayne! Sorry I can't make it to you par-tee... :( You still have to come to my wedding.

Well, back to my deadline!

May 2008 Update!

Check out my updated Demo Reel! I can't put Grossology on it just yet, but I've added some Atomic Betty and Iggy Arbuckle clips. (All wicked shows that were awesome to work on!)

I've also posted my updated resume. There are a couple new images here as well, the painting I recently finished and the the cover I designed for my demo reel case.

Please look through my archives to check out more artwork! I've got life drawings and paintings here.

the glamourous world of fulltime blogging

Hallo, I know I've been absent from my blog, I've got stories to tell and things to say... but not much time to write them down. My days are 12 hour days now, no longer carpooling. I commute by foot/GoTrain/bus which is an hour and a half each way. I just had my skirt sewing class this past Wednesday evening, went to The Ryerson Graduating Fashion show on Tuesday (Mass Exodus: Paramnesia) last night took a field trip to the grocery store after work. So got lots to keep me busy.

Blogging can be fulfilling and pretty fun, even addictive if you let it go that far. Read this article on the glamourous world of fulltime blogging. I should actually get going, I'm at work and I think I'll already need to be coming in this weekend...

Still Life - Boots and Chillis

I remembered that I never posted a picture of my still life finished... It's been finished for awhile now and I even got a new USB cable to upload photos from my camera to my computer since I STILL can't find my old one... And now I've lost my pencil case... Anyway, no more crappy cel phone pics :)

my jaw hurts

updating the blog from work... bad! oh well. Horton Hears a Who was fabulous! It was funny, charming, warm, fresh feeling, mature and be-u-teeful! However it had a couple baaad sequences, the 2D anime thing and the song sequence at the end. Those sequences did NOT fit in and were in bad taste... Other than that it was such a great movie! I'm happy. The characters were believable too, I really could feel that Horton was an honest, caring guy, looking out for that speck...

In wedding dress hunting news, I finally purchased a gown! My mom took lotsa pictures, but obviously can't post them, so bug me or her and we can show you. I ordered a birdcage veil as well, I really don't like those normal veils, they seem silly and old and they cover up your back... They seem princess-y which just isn't for me. I'm sure they could be gorgeous and look great on many brides, but I won't have one. I love my dress, very pleased I found it.

My jaw is killing me for some reason, I don't think it's my teeth, my jaw aches... ugh... I think I'm going to get back to work and try to distract myself from the pain...

Horton my favourite

hey, sorry for the lack of entries as of recent. Been super busy, good busy, getting stuff done, working hard... Going wedding gown shopping... Going to the 'loo this weekend to try on a gown actually. I've updated my other blog (http://fashion-matter.blogspot.com/) a whole bunch since I started it, I spent a day at L'Oreal Fashion week and I've been going to sewing lessons, reading, celebrating my b-day... I actually want to start a comic for that blog and rev it up a bit, make it more insightful... Just haven't had the time yet. Soon. Been so busy that some other aspects of my life have been going untended really... Going to check out Horton Hears a Who tonight with some friends. I wasn't going to see it, but since some friends want to see it I really want to give it a chance... Horton Hears a Who is my favourite storybook from my childhood and I've heard the movie is a clash of that beautiful sweet story and Dr. Seuss with Jim Carrey + Steve Carell....stuff.... I'm sure the movie will look beautiful....

zipped!

Here are the zippered pouches I made last Saturday at sewing class:The lining is a cute fabric with a print of wooden Russian dolls on it, you know the kind you open up and there's a smaller doll inside and you can open up 10 or so until you get to the smallest one?

I wish I could post pictures of me in wedding gowns that I've tried on... but of course I can't since Stephen checks my blog... Found some beautiful ones so far... Well a lot of beautiful ones. Shopping for a wedding gown is actually pretty hard... I'll be back at it this Saturday when mum and Andrew visit me.

I know I haven't been updated a whole lot recently, I switched internet providers (again) so now I finally have reliable internet service! But I've been updating my new blog a lot more now, the fashion one. I'm just so into it right now...

Been pretty tired in general recently, I think it's the whole getting up at 6am every day and daylight savings thing that's done it... Going to bed after 10pm sure doesn't help...

Bubble Buns

Caught up with my old friend Wayne today over bubble tea and snacks at Bubble Tease in Waterloo. Our classic hangout. Here are the yummy steamed buns we ate before we ate them:

two types of taro and one multigrain bun with taro and cinnamin dipping sauce, YUM!

On Friday at Sheridan I saw Dave Moffat in the cafeteria and I gave him a big hug- I think he was kinda surprised. Was good to see him though!

My b-day is coming up soon, and here's why getting old is cool.

-you don't have to live with your parents anymore and ask to use the car
-you can eat anything you want
-you're wiser and more mature
-you have experience
-you might not get ID'd as much anymore, and when you do it's feels either hilarious or flattering

Well, those are the top 5 reasons I can think of right now. But I'm old and it's way past my bedtime.

goodnight zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Fashion Matter

Internet still working!

I've created a new blog about my adventures in fashion! I call it Fashion Matter. Just wanted to keep it separate from my animation/personal one, so if I'm not updating this one as often, you can get your Andrea fix over there.

Check it out:

And here's a silly pic Steve took of me on V-Day...

Small Update

Sadly I don't have any pictures to post just right now, my internet service is sketchy at best and I'm taking the window of opportunity to post a little update while it's working. I finished my painting finally, so I have my living room back! Although I think I went a little too far on the background (in the painting) so I might end up going back one last time to lighten that up. Then I can take a picture and post the final image at last! Working at PSI in Oakville has been interesting... I'm carpooling again with an animator friend and it's working out well... A couple weeks ago Sheridan went through a lockdown when some staff and students thought they saw someone on campus with a shotgun.... It turned out to be their damn tripod.... There have been some crazy snowy days, not fun for commuting... And on Valentines I ate dinner at the CN (360 is the name of the restaurant) with Stephen. We both got all hot, I wore a black velvet Betsy Johnson cocktail dress and curled my hair, Stephen wore a snazzy new blazer/pants/red shirt combo. On Tuesday night I went to a sewing class at The Workroom, it was extremely satisfying and I am eager for more lessons!! Today I made it out to yoga when my wedding gown shopping plans were foiled. The people who were meant to send a specific gown for me to the Toronto Justina Mc Caffrey boutique forgot to put my gown on the list of items to be ordered... so I'll be trying that out next weekend instead :)

Next time I'll have pictures!!!

Since my last entry I...

-saw Cloverfield and loved it
-worked on my painting (see below)-decided to commute to work in Oakville on my own versus carpool (It's 1.5 hrs each way!)
-got started learning Harmony
-got sick
-saw The Simpsons Movie, I loved the scene where Homer watches the tape Marge has left him
-made blueberry waffles with Steve among many other yummy meals
-bought 3 dresses at the Bridal show (NOT wedding gowns)
-went to the Toronto National Bridal Show

I'm looking forward to getting my postcard from my mommy and andrew from their trip to Florida, mastering Harmony, going clubbing, finishing my painting, doing more wedding gown shopping, not being sick, having time to write my film script, dinner at 360 with Steve on V-Day.

I remember KT asking me what my weekend plans were on Friday evening when Chris, Michelle and Steve and I surprise visited her place, and I wanted to like... work on my painting and dye my hair or something... But I ended up being super sick and spending nearly a day finding new bedsheets/other housewares at the Bay with Steve and then the next day going to the drop-in clinic and having to return stuff to the Bay that was broken. At least I got 2 new lipsticks... in hot pink and coral orange! My mom and I end up talking about makeup (among other things that always pop up, like fashion and boys) often enough to make me feel like I am a lot like her and we are 2 funny ladies. I know she talks about all the same stuff with Karen too...

Here's a colour study I did for a big panning BG I put together for my LAST (unfinished) film idea:

Chilli

Well here's a photo I took with my cel phone, it's chilli! Consider this an extension of the last entry since I was sad I had no pictures to post.

Back to Work

Today was my first day back to work! I got up soooo early and was half an hour early for the Go train. And it was bloody cold outside! Especially with my little running shoes! Anyway I made it to Pipeline and met a bunch of new people, watched some cartoons (Grossology! see: http://www.ytv.com/programming/shows/grossology/) So for the rest of the week I'll be hardcore training on Harmony at Nelvana, which is like, a 20 minute walk from my house. Someone at work was kind enough to offer me a ride home and it looks like I'll be able to commute with him each day.... YAY

It was another inspiring day for me, I was semi sort of dreading going back to work, the idea of my contract lasting a -whole year- and commuting and learning new software, it was so so nice to have free time to DO STUFF on my own, ya know? But I miss working as well and even if I do have to commute, it's not so bad. I actually enjoy getting up early and not wasting the day sleeping. So it's nice to have a job that forces you to not waste the day. It's a great studio, I love it. I'm very excited to be on a great show and learn some new stuff and meet new people... This is a new thing for Pipeline, but very couple weeks someone is going to do a 'lunch n learn' thing, where they give a lesson to anyone who wants to pick up something new, like Marco is doing a painting lesson tomorrow and I'm not happy I have to miss that! Aw well.

I'm excited because I have a new story idea, was thinking I'd hammer out a script first this time, not just try to pump out rough boards, I know that's the way that a lot of awesome story people have done it, at least on features, but I am thinking that maybe for me it will be easier to visualise the story stuff when I have a story to read... I think I will be able to keep the story more tidy this way... My year was encouraged by our animation teacher to build up a story this way but for TV animation as I've experienced it, there's always a script first... Visualise to the story instead of story with visuals for me this time. I think that's better for my brain.

I still can't find my camera cable! I will give it some more time to show up and eventually I may just have to get a new one... if I can...

Yesterday Stephen made saffron bread with blueberries... It was super yummy. He picked up a book on breadmaking and is all into it right now. I ended up picking up the sequel to 'How it all Vegan' which is 'The Garden of Vegan'. I adore the recipes and ideas in those books...

I just watched the Transformers movie a couple days ago, I was kinda dreading watching it... I didn't let Sean drag me to the theater in the summer in Vancouver- the trailor made it look so freaking cheesy... And it's a bit hard to stomach for the first 15 minutes or so, but the animation is gorgeous and the Transformers (the characters) are pretty fun... The effects are incredible and watching all the special features on the DVD makes you wanna watch the movie again, and really appreciate it. It's the kind of movie that is boggling as to the fact that it even got -finished- there was so much work put into it! I think the ending fell pretty flat... It was kinda silly... All the 'hacking the system' and how every female character is hot as hell and 'ohmigod call the President' stuff is bad, but overall the film is still very enjoyable. Hey, if you like jawdropping effects, you should also be sure to watch the new Superman movie...

I wish I had a picture to post :(
I hate posting only text...

Internet Broken Again

Well my internet connection is down again... It hasn't been working for days. So I'm in the public library again to check my mail. Also, I can't find the cable to import photos from my camera to my computer!! I have a still life in progress at home that I wanted to post a photo of, so I took a photo with my cel phone. Therefore, crummy photo quality. It's something at least...

So here it is, a work in progress with acrylics:

So other than painting, I've been doing a bit of yoga, rockclimbing, lots of reading, learning how to light in 3D, life drawing, animating, cooking, wedding dress shopping and lots of cleaning!

I wish I had more time.

Anyway, being unemployed was wicked, it's so great to have the time to get things done around the house/run errands and have some time leftover to do some good stuff. Training at my new job starts on Monday and of course I'm excited, also nervous. I am nervous about having to get up so early every morning to commute to Oakville, I hope I can get my tired butt out of bed early enough 5 times a week.

The vegan thing is going great- I got a couple books on it, one a cookbook; 'How it All Vegan' - see: http://www.amazon.ca/Vegan-Irresistible-Recipes-Animal-Free-Diet/dp/1551520672/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1200611777&sr=8-1. The other night I made mushroom/onion/lentil stuffed squash for dinner and lemon cupcakes with maple icing for dessert, it was too yummy to go get the camera to take a picture. Besides, I can't find that darn cable...

I'm super interested in learning how to sew- I picked up a copy of Sewing for Dummies and found The Workhouse on Queen which rents out sewing machines and gives lessons. The other day walking down Queen street I decided to head into Designer Fabrics- it looks a little 'Parkdale' on the outside... but inside I was surprised by the selection of fabrics.... thousands of samples all kept on little hangers and you go browsing through them, you write down the number they have and ask for those fabrics at the cutting table. More sophisticated than any fabric store I've ever been to before... Then upstairs, they had a bunch of pricy stuff. There is an assortment of fabrics actually locked away behind glass doors! The priciest fabric I could see was $900/yard!!!!!!!!! Anyway, they were beautiful and there are too many things I want to do...

Anyone want their portrait painted?

New stuff / New year - Looking for people who would like a portait painted of them

My internet connection has been inoperable for some time now, and with a long visit to P.E.I. and then The Loo, blogging has not been a possibility for some time. But I'm back!

I've decided to become a vegan.... It's a little bit hard to cut so many nice tasting things out of your diet and manage meals at home sometimes, but ultimately, I'm very excited and happy to be vegan and I'm feeling good. Feeling healthy. I've decided to avoid alcohol and caffeine as well and cut out all refined sugar from my diet, or at least to the very best of my abilities... Seems that if I was super strict I'd have a very difficult time if ever at a restaurant with the sugar thing. But there are always options that are suitable.... Like vegetarian stirfry at Swiss Chalet, Udon Veggie soup at Masa Sushi and veggie burger at any pub.... My favourite restaurant ever is Fresh! (http://www.juiceforlife.com/main.html) They are a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and their food is kickass. What's cool about being vegan is you can really eat anything- but it's just different- mac and cheese is now made with whole grain pasta and soy milk/margarine/milk. Ice cream can be done soy, meat as well... Chocolate, pizza, lasagne, can all be made with substitutes.

I'm feeling very creative these days... There are many things I want to do, animate, storyboard, learn 3D lighting, life draw, learn to sew, paint....... If anyone is willing to sit still for a few hours and get a portrait painted of themselves, let me know... I need some people to paint! Depending on how patient you are, I'd say anywhere from 2-8 hours would do. If anyone I know wants to get a portrait painted, lemme know.

Still haven't ordered a wedding dress. Still deciding and looking. Not sure where the honeymoon will be either.

Stephen made his first alcohol purchase last night. Though it's not for drinking, it's for cooking. We got some vanilla liquer to make pear flambe and some Guiness 'cuz he loves beef n' mushroom pie made with beer. So all the alcohol gets burned away and it's just the taste left. Still, it was pretty funny to go into LCBO with him and he has no idea what any of it is- Or how the store is organised... I'm all reminicising of days gone by of chocolate peanut butter martinis, polar bear shots and brown cows... The pub favourite was cider and Kahlua made Tim Horton's hot chocolate even warmer....

Also, last night I tried out rockclimbing! It was a lot more fun than I expected it to be, it's a challenge... Quite interesting. So I bought a two week membership and I expect to go back at least 2 more times in that period. I'm also getting into yoga, which I really like... It's a fantastic physical challenge as well as a way to clear your mind and be aware of your body, so I really like it.

Happy New Year everyone!!!
